On 23rd October 2024, UBF Maintenance Sdn Bhd held a successful Evacuation, Emergency Drill, and Firefighting exercise at its headquarters, Teluk Kalong, Kemaman. The session was conducted by Mr. Deva Dass, from Safety & Health Department who brings considerable experience as a former member of Anggota Bomba & Penyelamat Malaysia.
The purpose of the drill was to boost staff preparedness for emergency situations, especially fire-related incidents. Mr. Deva Dass gave comprehensive guidance on evacuation procedures, highlighting the need for prompt and organized actions in emergencies. He also demonstrated the proper use of various types of fire extinguishers, focusing on their application to different classes of fires.
The drill featured a live evacuation simulation, allowing employees to practice safe building exits under controlled conditions. This exercise helped participants become familiar with the emergency exits, assembly points, and overall evacuation process.
With Mr. Deva Dass’s expertise, both as a HSE officer and a former fire and rescue personnel, the drill was highly educational and practical, equipping staff to respond quickly and effectively in real-life emergencies. The event underscored UBF Maintenance’s commitment to maintaining a safe workplace.
